In Pristine Winter Morning, the snow covered trees point your attention up toward Mount Hood, keeping the foreground on the bottom, line for the rule of thirds. And for Fresh Snow Over Peyto Lake, the light of the mountains draws attention away from the darker foreground. the difference of the snow on the trees also draws the eyes inward. the different blue of the lake attracts attention as well.
